Import tool: Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) 13.0 (2016) (http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms175609.aspx)
Import interface: [Business Intelligence] Multi-Model, BI Design (RDBMS Source, OLAP Source, Dimensional Target, Transformation Lineage, Expression Parsing) via XMLA(TMSL) JSON File from Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) 2016 (File)
Import bridge: 'MicrosoftSqlServerAs' 10.1.0
The bridge imports SSAS Tabular models at compatibility level 1200 and later from a .bim or .asdatabase file.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
WHAT IS .BIM FILE AND HOW TO PRODUCE IT:
Analysis Services supports Tabular Model Scripting language(TMSL). The 'model.bim' is a TMSL file in JSON format. Only tabular models created at the 1200(SQL Server 2016) compatibility level or higher are described in TMS in JSON format. To create new .bim file SSDT (SQL Server Data Tools) could be used. SSDT build project's .bim model into final .asdatabase and both of them have the same structure. The bridge could import .asdatabase as well. It's possible to upgrade an earlier version tabular model to use TMSL by switching up its CompatibilityLevel to 1200 or higher.
When experiencing issues with the bridge, you should report the issues in a manner that is reproducible by the support engineers. In order to provide a complete set of source metadata to reproduce the issue, please export and attach the Analysis Service files. As always, attach the MIMB Log file, as well.

|Miscellaneous||Specify miscellaneous options identified with a -letter and value.
For example, -m 4G -j -Dname=value -Xms1G
-m the maximum Java memory size whole number (e.g. -m 4G or -m 2500M ).
-j the last option that is followed by Java command line options (e.g. -j -Dname=value -Xms1G).
